I began my studies at Llanfyllin High School in 2012, and this school was all about the arts which was perfect for me! Here, I studied mainly the Performing Arts and Theatre and finished my GCSE with an A*. I also joined The Lonely Tree Youth Theatre during this time which really enhanced my confidence when performing, especially when given singing roles. I was able to transfer this confidence over to my music. It was towards the end of my time at school that I began doing charity singing gigs for Charman Promotions, who I still work closely with to this day. Whilst at Llanfyllin High School, I had an amazing singing teacher who was always so supportive of myself and my musical journey and without her I wouldn’t be where I am today. Under her coaching I underwent two singing exams with The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music; both my Grade 4 and Grade 5 and attained a Merit in both. I spent 3 years as part of my high school choir as a mezzo soprano, which helped me extend my vocal range enoromously.
After High School I attended Shrewsbury Sixth Form to continue with my musical and theatrical studies. It was during my time here I began learning to play guitar to accompany myself when performing, which over the years has become a staple part of all my performances and gigs. (I think the Ed Sheeran Fangirl in me had a lot to do with this lol). I had another fantastic singing teacher whilst studying here, who again heavily influenced my career in music and under her teaching I underwent my Grade 8 in Musical Theatre with the London College of Music Examinations and again received a Merit. After college I took a year out to work, perform and prepare for my adventure at BIMM University.
It was when I started Univeristy that I began taking on paid work where my music was concerned. It was here I gained most of my knowledge and experience in the performance and gigging field. I have had experience performing in many different venues and situations such as pubs, bars, charity events and festivals in which I acoustically cover a range of genres and artists.
As well as performing covers I also write and perform my original music. I’d describe my originals as country/pop with a dash of indie vibes with influences such as Carrie Underwood, Ed Sheeran, Taylor Swift fused together with the likes of Lucy Spraggen and Paramore. I absolutely love and feel so lucky to have the ability to connect with people through something as beautiful as music. Using my personal life experiences and current affairs I try to create relatable content for my audiences in hopes that it will resonate with at least one person who needs that reassurance that they aren’t alone. My songs base mainly around relationships with family, friends, and partners, mental health and current issues we face as young adults in our society.
As well as my solo music, I am also in a band called High Sobriety; a female fronted alt rock/pop punk band from Manchester. We like to think we have a unique sound and ability to fill a gap in the industry, due to having two lead vocalists. Creating luscious harmonies alongside powerful riffs and electrifying drums. Since forming at the start of 2023, we have performed in multiple venues across Manchester, including Band on the Wall and doing our first head line gig at Lions Den. Whilst we’ve been a little quiet so far this year in terms of gigs, we’ve been really focusing on recording our originals. We have not long released our debut single “Problematic” on all streaming platforms as the first part of our 5 song EP. The EP will be out and available later in the year.
Currently I am based in Darwen and Manchester, however I would be happy to travel within the UK. Prices for travel will vary based on distance and will be added to the base rate of the performance. Travel prices will be based solely on the fuel used to get to and from gig.
